Project Funding and Capacity Building
Unidas offers opportunities for project funding through its own resources, supporting member initiatives that strengthen the network and its collective capacities. Since 2020, and with the support of the German Federal Foreign Office, Unidas has funded a range of projects across Latin America aimed at promoting crisis prevention, conflict transformation, stabilization, and democratic participation.
These initiatives have been implemented in countries including Peru, Guatemala, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Mexico, and Honduras, and address issues such as gender-based violence, human rights, digital safety, and civic engagement. In 2025, Unidas continued this work by supporting several member-led projects at both national and regional levels, focusing on raising awareness, capacity building, and support for affected communities.
In addition, Unidas cooperates with the zivik Funding Programme of the Institute for Foreign Cultural Relations (ifa), which provides further funding opportunities, particularly for projects related to peacebuilding, conflict transformation, and democratic processes.

Project Description
LIDERESAS UNIDAS is a narrative podcast series that tells the stories, struggles, and strategies of ten women leaders from Latin America and the Caribbean who are part of the Unidas network. Hosted by Argentine journalists Ingrid Beck and Mariana Carbajal, the episodes highlight personal and inspiring accounts spanning various areas of activism. Each episode combines the voices of the protagonists with other testimonies and soundscapes. The project aims to internationally showcase the work and activism of the Unidas Women's Network members in their pursuit of equality and women’s rights.

Project Description
Calladita NO es más bonita is a hybrid podcast series by Costa Rica's Defensoría de los Habitantes, running in San José and nationwide. It educates women and girls—especially in rural areas—on identifying gender violence risks, seeking help, and filing complaints through expert and civil society guest dialogues. The project promotes safe conversation spaces using clear language, social media campaigns (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook), and listener feedback surveys to empower women and challenge violence normalization.

The Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen (ifa) funds up to four projects by Unidas members per year. Within the framework of the zivik Programme, funding is provided for projects of civil society organisations that deal with issues of crisis prevention, conflict management and the peaceful stabilisation of social and political systems. Funding includes support for project design and implementation, assistance with implementation and financial reporting, support for evaluation and impact assessment, and networking opportunities.
